Uppity Heifer is excited about launching the first issue of our Zine, and we're looking for writers and researchers to make it happen. This issue will feature short stories, nonfiction essays, and hybrid works. There's no theme this time around. We want your best, most compelling writing. Writers of all experience levels are welcome to submit their work. We have two requirements:
Submit your work here.
The deadline for submission is December 1, 2025.
Writing for Revolution is a one-week residency for women writers whose work centers Black women's stories and histories. The next residency will be held in Yanga, Mexico, a region known for its rich Black history, beauty, and sacred energy. This intensive residency helps writers of all levels and experiences hone their craft through a mix of history, interactive writing exercises, narrative medicine techniques, and workshopping.
